Warrington Athletic Club's star hurdler makes the step up to the next level with his invite to compete in the Sainsbury Anniversary Games which are taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Stadium London from the 26th to 28th July. James is competing in the 110 metres hurdles which has an entry list that reads like a who's who of the event and includes 6 of last year's Olympic Finalists. The top entries include current Olympic Champion and World Record holder Aries Merritt (USA), Olympic Champion and former World record holder Dayron Robles (Cuba), 2011 World Champion and 2012 Olympic Silver Medallist Jason Richardson (USA) and 2008 Olympic Bronze Medallist David Oliver (USA). Among the other entries are fellow British runners Lawrence Clarke (2012 Olympic 4th and 2010 Commonwealth Bronze) , William Sharman (2010 Commonwealth Silver) and current USA Champion Ryan Wilson. James runs in his heat on Saturday 27th July and goes into the event with the slowest personal best time of the entries and is not expected to make the final but will gain massively in experience.
