Warrington Athletic Club's James Gladman took a rest from hurdling when he travelled to Ghent in Belgium to compete in the Flanders Cup Athletics meeting on Saturday 3rd August running in the 200 metres.

James finished in third place behind Walter Dix (USA) the 2008 Olympic Bronze medallist in 100 and 200 metres and Silver Medallist over the same distances at the 2011 World Championships and Danny Talbot (UK) James's training partner who ran in the 200 metres at the London Olympics. Dix who is one of a few men to have gone under 10 seconds for 100 metres and 20 seconds for 200 metres won with a time of 20.43 seconds edging out Talbot who recorded 20.45 seconds with James 3rd in 20.80 seconds.

This time by James smashes the Club record of 21.5 seconds set in 1969 by John Harrison who ran for England in the 1970 British Commonwealth Games over 100 metres in Edinburgh.
