English Schools Cross Country Championships Castle Donnington Leicestershire 15th March 2014

The English Schools Cross Country Championships were held at Castle Donnington Leicestershire on Saturday 15th March with 15 Warrington Athletic Club runners representing Cheshire and one representing Greater Manchester.Representing Greater Manchester Harriet Knowles-Jones continued excellent season from where she left off last weekend at the Inter Counties by winning the Intermediate Girls race by 10 seconds in a time of 12 minutes 27 seconds leading her team to the Bronze Medals.Behind Harriet in 88th place was Vicky Ramsbottom in 14 minutes 16 seconds with Sarah McGrail in 134th place in 14 minutes 35 seconds to help Cheshire to 12th place in the team event.In 200th place was Olivia Bush with 15 minutes 04 seconds but not counting for the team.Following this victoryHarriet will now represent English Schools in the SIAB cross country International at Canon Slade School Bolton on Saturday 22nd March.
In the junior Girls race Lauren Ferris continued her good form to finish in 35th place with a time of 10 minutes 58 seconds and with Milly Boyer in150th place in 11 minutes 41 seconds helped the team to 25th place.Isabelle Trevithick was a non counter for the team in 300th place in 12 minutes23 seconds.
In the Senior Girls race Alysha Goddard was a counting member of the team in 104th place with 17 minutes 27 seconds as the team finished in 13th place while Holly Tidd was a non counter in 199th place with 18 minutes 35 seconds.
In the Senior Boys race Cameron Field had an excellent run to finish in 23rd place with a time of 24 minutes 44 seconds to lead in the team to 16th place and was followed home by Liam Burthem as second counter in 89th place in 25 minutes 52 seconds.In the Intermediate Boys race Daniel Evans in 67th place in 20 minutes 14 seconds and Leighton Sharman in 179th place in 21 minutes 36 seconds both counted for the 14th placed team while a shattered Owen Lee finished out of the counters in 214th place in 21 minutes 55 seconds.In the Junior Boys race after falling at the start Jack Stubbings ran excellently to finish in 56th place in 15 minutes 25 seconds while Sam Rostron finished in 197th place in 16 minutes 17 seconds with both counting in the 14th placed team.
