Warrington parkrun 22nd March 2014

Seven Warrington Athletic Club runners took part in the warrington parkrun on Saturday 22nd March setting four age group course records.Fifteen year old Leighton Sharman made his parkrun debut winning in 17 minutes 41 seconds to set a record for 15-17 men.Close behind Leighton was 12 year old Sam Evans in 5th place with 18 minutes 09 seconds to demolish the previous record for 11-14 boys.Steve Burthem was next to finish in 17th place to equal his best time for the course with 19 minutes 49 seconds as he was first 50-54 year old.next in was Dave Tomkins 1st in the 65-69 year age group improving his own course record to 22 minutes 25 seconds.The next to finish was the youngest club runner 7 year old Molly Wormald in 91st place who destroyed her previous best time taking it from 27 minutes 04 seconds to 25 minutes 33 seconds.Molly is in the junior woman’s up to 10 year old age group but If there was a record for her age she would surely have set a new one. Next in was 16 year old Hannah Meisel who is in Britain on a programme from Germany for a school year designed to understand British culture and improve her English skills.Hannah finished in 93rd place setting a course record for the 15-17 year woman’s age group with 25 minutes 33 seconds.The final runner was Neville Jones in 199th place with 36 minutes 04 seconds in the 75-79 year age group but outside his course record.
