Trafford Grand Prix 6th May 2014

Seventeen Warrington Athletic Club runners took part in the Trafford Grand Prix featuring British Milers Club events at Longford Stadium on Tuesday 6th May.In the feature events Daniel Evans and Cameron Field took part in the 1500 metres with Daniel finishing 7th in a personal best time of 3 minutes 58.18 scones with Cameron close behind in 8th place just outside his best with 3 minutes 59.68 seconds.
In the 800 metres series under 20 Matt Wigelsworth finished in 4th place in his race recording a time of 1 minute 58.35 seconds.In their race under 17 Robert Dykes and under 20 Chris Fance both recorded personal best times with Robert winning in 2 minutes 00.22 second sand Chris 4th in 2 minutes 02.59 seconds.The final runner in the 800 metres was under 17 Carys McAulay who finished 5th in her race recording 2 minutes 16.99 seconds.
In the 1500metres series all bar Luke Gamble recorded personal best times with Luke having to settle for a seasonís best time.First up were Jack Stubbings and Luke Gamble who finished 4th and 12th in their race recording 4 minutes 27.31 seconds and 4 minutes 47.38 seconds respectively.In the next race Sam Rostron finished 3rd in 4 minutes 40.13 seconds while Daniel Fox was 5th in 4 minutes 41.92 seconds and Melissa Boyer was 9th in 4 minutes 54.44 seconds.Next up were Lauren Ferris and Amy Gibbons finishing 4th and 12th in 4 minutes 59.00 seconds and 5 minutes 12.22 seconds respectively.All these runners are in the under 15 age group.Bringing the 1500 metres to a close was under 17 Harriet Knowles-Jones who finished in 8th place in her race in 4 minutes 25.44 seconds.
In the 3000 metres series under 20 Liam Burthem finished in 22nd place in race 1 in a new best time of 8 minutes 56.07 seconds.Having not raced the distance for three years Liam demolished his previous best going under 9 minutes for the first time.In race 3 under 17ís Sarah McGrail and Vicky Ramsbottom made their debut over the distance finishing in 12th and 21st places respectively.Sarah recorded a time of 10 minutes 17.26 seconds to put her 16th in the UK rankings so far this season and as she has Irish Qualification would rank her 15th in the Irish Senior rankings.Vicky recorded a time of 10 minutes 59.26 seconds.
