Trafford Grand Prix 10th June 2014

Eighteen Warrington Athletic Club runners took part in the Trafford Grand Prix at Longford Stadium on Tuesday 10th June with 13 setting new best times.In the Gold Standard 800 metres races Sam Dykes improved his best time to 1 minute 51.47 seconds as he finished in 6th place in race A.In race D Cameron Field also improved his best time to 1 minute 57.29 seconds as he finished in 7th place.
In the under 15 first 1500 metres Jack Stubbings finished 3rd in 4 minutes 23.01 seconds with Sam Rostron 7th in 4 minutes 29.10 seconds and Daniel Fox 11th in 4 minutes 40.14 seconds all personal best times.In the under 15 second 1500 metres Lauren Ferris was 6th in 4 minutes 47.93 seconds with Luke Gamble 7th in 4 minutes 48.53 seconds and Melissa Boyer 8th in 4 minutes 48.66 seconds with the girls getting personal bests.In the under 15 third race Amy Gibbons finished 13th in 5 minutes 27.72 seconds.
In the 800 metres series under 17 Harriet Knowles-Jones finished third in her race in 2 minutes 09.40 seconds which removed the club record set by Sue Parker 39 years ago and the under 20 record set by Julie Hicken 33 years ago.This now gives Harriet the club records at 800 metres 1500 metres and 3000 metres in the under 17 and under 20 age groups and the Senior record at 1500 metres.Under 17 Daniel Evans finished 8th in his race recording 1 minute 59.84 seconds while Robert Dykes finished 6th in his race in 1 minute 59.85 seconds and Chris Fance finished 5th in 2 minutes 00.50 seconds in his race with robert and Chris setting new best times.In their race Sarah McGrail won in a new best time of 2 minutes 19.92 seconds with Kiera Grady 7th in 2 minutes 33.59 seconds.
At 1500 metres Liam Burthem finished 2nd in his race in 4 minutes 04.46 seconds while Owen Lee set a new best time in his race of 4 minutes 24.33 seconds as he finished in 8th place.
Victoria Ramsbottom set a new best time over 3000 metres of 10 minutes 44.45 seconds finishing in 21st place.
