Cheshire Schools 15th June 2014

The Cheshire Schools Championships were held on Saturday 14th June at Macclesfield with thirty-two Warrington Athletic Club athletes taking part and collecting 10 Gold 3 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals. In the girls events Gold medals came in the Intermediate 800 metres from Carys McAulay with 2 minutes 15.5 seconds with Lizzie Smith in 4th place in 2 minutes 21.1 seconds and Kiera Grady 8th in 2 minutes 35.5 seconds,Alysha Goddard in the Senior 1500 metres Steeplechase in 5 minutes 27.7 seconds,Sarah McGrail in the Intermediate 3000 metres in 10 minutes 24.3 seconds with Victoria Ramsbottom taking the Silver Medal in 10 minutes 52.5 seconds.In the Junior Girls 800 metres Melissa Boyer took the Gold in 2 minutes 19.6 seconds with Amy Gibbons in 4th place in 2 minutes 31.0 seconds while in the 1500 metres Lauren Ferris took Gold in 4 minutes 51.7 seconds with Lauren Goddard 5th in 5 minutes 14.7 seconds and Isabelle Trevithick 13th in 5 Minutes 35.6 seconds.In the Hammer Megan Kettle set a inaugural Championship record with a throw of 23.78 metres.In the Intermediate 100 metres Eleanor Baker won her heat in 13.1 seconds and then took the Gold in the Final with 13.3 seconds.Other Medals in the Girls events came from Lara Spiteri in the Junior 200 metres took 2nd place in her heat with 28.2 seconds and then took the Bronze Medal in the final with 28.4 seconds with Joanna Ravenscroft 3rd in her heat in 28.2 seconds and 5th in the final in 28.6 seconds while in the Junior 75 metres hurdles Hannah Shaw was 2nd in her heat with 12.9 seconds a time she repeated in the final to take the Bronze Medal.In her heat Rebecca Hardy was 5th in 14.8 seconds going through to the final as a fastest loser where she finished in 7th place in 14.7 seconds.In the Junior 100 metres Imogen Proctor was 8th in her heat in 15.3 seconds while Ellie Hough was 5th in her heat in 14.2 seconds with neither progressing to the final.
