parkrun 28th June 2014
Last edited: Friday July 4th 2014
The rain stopped just long enough for the 23rd Victoria Park parkrun in Warrington to take place on Saturday. Warrington Athletic Club athletes were first in nearly all the male categories with the exception of the o/40 which was claimed by Mark Mitchell of Warrington Triathlon Club.

Warrington ACís Jack Stubbing and Sam Roston ran seconds apart throughout the race and only 10 seconds separated them at the finish with training partner Luke Gamble a further 18 seconds behind. They were the first three u/15ís to finish but even better they finished in 4th,5th and 6th positions overall just over a minute behind the winning time of 17:14 for the 5km distance.

One minute behind the duo was Warrington ACís Steve Burthem who was the 1st o/50 followed by his club mate Tony McCarthy 1st o/55 and Dave Tomkins 1st/65 in a great time of 22:31 finishing in 34th spot. Six minutes behind him was the 1st 0/60 and Warrington AC member Geoff Settle. Ever Green Nev Jones took the o/75ís 1st place in 35:21 with his usual encouragement to all around him as he approached the finishing line.
