Youth Development League Upper Age Group 18th April 2015 Victoria Park

Warrington Athletic Club started their Youth Development League season in the Upper Age Group for under 17 an under 20 athletes on Saturday 18th April at Victoria Park.In the match Ben Sutcliffe in the under 20 menís events had three personal best performances with 11.7 seconds for 2nd in the 100 metres plus victories in the 110 metres hurdles with 16.0 seconds and the Triple Jump with 12.54 metres.other victories in the under 20 men came from Matt Wigelsworth (1500 metres),Chris Fance (B 1500 metres) and Dan Richardson (800 metres).In the Womenís under 20ís Alysha Goddard was the only winner in the 1500 metres Steeplechase.
In the under 17 age group Cameron Meakin recorded a treble victory with wins in the 100 metres and 400 metres hurdles and Long Jump with his time of 14.0 seconds being a qualifying time for the English Schools.Fisayo Williamson-Taylor recorded a double win in the 100 and 200 metres while Jack Stubbings won the 1500 metres and the B 400 metres and Luke Gamble won the 3000 metres.In the Womenís events Ellie Baker was another treble winner in the 100 metres,200 metres and Long Jump.In the 1500 metres Lauren Goddard and Jasmine Dobson won the A and B events and Hannah Shaw won the 300 metres hurdles.
Many of the athletes took part in unfamiliar events to score points for the team and this resulted in the team finishing in 2nd place in the match.
