Cheshire Schools Championships Victoria Park Warrington 13th June 2015

The Cheshire Schools Championships were held on Saturday 13th June at Victoria Park Warrington with Warrington Athletic Club athletes collecting 12 titles.
In the Girls events the titles were won in the Junior age group by Elizabeth Wright in the 800 metres with 2 minutes 19.6 seconds and Megan Kettle in the Hammer with a new Championship Best performance throw of 33.38 metres.In the Intermediate age group the title winners were Melissa Boyer 800 metres with 2 minutes 19.5 seconds,Katie Lowery 1500 metres with a new Championship Best performance of 4 minutes 38.5 seconds and Victoria Ramsbottom in the 1500 metres Steeplechase with 5 minutes 57.7 seconds.
In the Boys events the titles were won in the junior age group by Thomas Baines recording a new Championship Best performance in the 300 metres with 36.7 seconds also a new personal best time which moves him to 2nd place in the UK under 15 rankings.In the Intermediate age group the title winners were Jack Stubbings in the 1500 metres with 4 minutes 14.1 seconds and Camero Meakin in the 100 metres hurdles with 13.9 seconds.In the Senior age group Ben Sutcliffe had a double victory taking the 110 metres hurdles in 16.4 seconds and the 400 metres hurdles in 65.1 seconds.
Other medal winners were Junior Girls Natasha Ryder 2nd in the Hammer (22.73 metres),Intermediate Girls Lauren Ferris 2nd 1500 metres (4 minutes 43.0 seconds),Hannah Shaw 2nd 300 metres hurdles (52.8 seconds),Ellie Baker 2nd Long Jump (4.88 metres) and Lauren Goddard 3rd 1500 metres (5 minutes 04.9 seconds).In the Boys events they were Junior Boys Josh Herrington 2nd High Jump (1.60 metres) and Oliver Chi 3rd 80 metres hurdles (13.8 seconds),Intermediate Boys Jamie Pickett 2nd 200 metres (24.5 seconds),Daniel Fox 2nd 3000 metres(9 minutes 44.4 seconds) and Luke Gamble 3rd 3000 metres (10 minutes 08.3 seconds).
