Celtic Games Grangemouth Stsdium 1st August 2015

Warrington Athletic Club’s Scotland and Great Britain Youth International Carys McAulay following her trip to Colombia where she finished in 4th place in the 800 metres at the World Youth Championships made the shorter trip to Grangemouth to run for Scotland in the Celtic Games on Saturday 1st August.Following the Commonwealth Games last year the track was uplifted from Hampden Park and relaid at Grangemouth.Carys moved down in distance to run in the 400 metres and came away with a victory in a new personal best time of 55.66 seconds before the weather deteriorated.Carys later ran the first leg in the 4x400 metres relay which Scotland narrowly lost to Ireland.Scotland won the overall Trophy with 170 points from Ireland on 156 points and Wales on 147 points.Carys now prepares for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa in September along with 5 of her teammates in Grangemouth.
