Cheshire Track Championships Saturday/Sunday 14th-15th May 2016 Macclesfield

The Cheshire Athletics Championships were held over the weekend of 14-15th May at Macclesfield with 27 Warrington Athletic Club athletes taking part and collecting 12 titles and 12 other medals and many personal best performances.
The top result of the weekend came in the under 15 boys 1500 metres where Sam Evans (4 minutes 24.61 seconds),Jordan Jones (4 minutes 30.63 seconds) and Joe Buckley (4 minutes 34.16 seconds)took Gold ,Silver and Bronze medals with Tom Hurrell (5 minutes 09.67 seconds and Joe Roberts (5 minutes 27.74 seconds) in 9th and 10th places with all 5 recording personal bests.Joe Buckley also won a Silver Medal in the 800 metres with a personal best of 2 minutes 16.77 seconds with Isaaq Ataullah in 5th place in a personal best 2 minutes 23.22 seconds.
In the under 15 boys 80 metres hurdles and High Jump Josh Herrington took double Gold with two personal bests of 12.18 seconds in the hurdles and 1.78 metres in the High Jump which is a new Club record.In the Hurdles Josh was followed home in Silver Medal position by Joe Williams with a personal best of 12.73 seconds.
In the under 13 age group events Meg Corker took Gold in the girls 75 metres winning her heat in 10.9 seconds and then the final in a new best time of 10.59 seconds and then took Bronze in the 70 metres hurdles with 12.77 seconds and Silver in the Long Jump with 3.97 metres.In the 800 metres Ashley Nemits took Gold with a time of 2 minutes 26.88 seconds with Rebecca Nixon 4th in 2 minutes 38.49 seconds.In the boys 800 metres Rhys Hopkins finished in 7th place with new best time of 2 minutes 41.43 seconds.
The other winners were Elizabeth Wright under 17 women's 300 metres (personal best time of 43.61 seconds) with Eve Lloyd 6th in 46.92 seconds,Fisayo Williamson-Taylor under 17 men's 100 metres (11.5 seconds), Jack Stubbings under 17 men's 1500 metres (4 minutes 18.80 seconds) and Chris Fance under 20 1500 metres (4 minutes 06.43 seconds),Lauren Ferris under 17 women's 1500 metres(4 minutes 46.85 seconds) and Megan Kettle under 17 women's Hammer (38.10 metres).The final Gold Medallist came in the Senior Men's where there as a poor turnout in most events and over 55 David Gill won 800 metres in 2 minutes 26.65 seconds.David also took Silver in the 3000 metres in 11 26.50 seconds and Bronze in the 1500 metres with 5 minutes 23.40 seconds.
The last medallists were Tom Baines taking the Silver in the under 17 men's 400 metres with a debut over the distance in 51.55 seconds and Ben Sutcliffe in the under 20 110 metres hurdles in a new best time of 16.00 seconds.In the under 17 women's 3000 metres Isabelle Trevithick took Bronze in 12 minutes 20.19 seconds on her debut in the event.In the under 15 girls Hammer Natasha Ryder too the Silver Medal with a new personal best throw of 28.77 metres.
In the under 17 men's 3000 metres Sam Rostron and Daniel Fox finished in 5th and 6th places with times of 9 minutes 39.26 seconds and 9 minutes 49.34 seconds respectively.
In the under 15 girls 800 metres Charlotte Stokes finished in 11th place with 2 minutes 45.65 seconds while in the 200 metres heats Rebecca Hardwick was 5th in her race with 29.43 seconds and Emma Davies was 6th in her race in 29.00 seconds.
In the under 17 women's 100 metres Eleanor Hough finished 4th in the final in 13.8 seconds (3rd in heat in 13.75 seconds) with Eve lloyd 8th in the final in 14.3 seconds (4th in heat in 14.19 seconds) which was a new best time.In the 200 metres the same women finished in 4th and 5th place with 28.44 seconds and 29.40 seconds respectively.
