Mason Trophy Inter County Scools Meeting 18th June 2016

14 Warrington Athletic Club athletes took part in the Mason Trophy Schools Inter County meeting at Alexander Stadium Birmingham on Saturday 18th June with two of them achieving new Club Records.
In the under 17 mens 100 metres Fisayo Williamson-Taylor finished 2nd outdipped at the line but recording the same time as the winner with 10.89 seconds.This time broke the club under 17 record of 11.0 seconds the oldest track record on the books originally set by John Harrison in 1965 who went on to represent England in the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.The record had been equalled in 1975 by N Lake,in 1976 by L Jones and D Harding in 1976 and by Fisayo himself earlier this year.
In the under 15 Boys High Jump Josh Herrington took the Gold Medal with a jump of 1.83 metres going over 1.80 metres for the first time to break his own Club Record which he set earlier this year.
In the under 17 mens 400 metres Thomas Baines had an excellent run to take the Silver Medal with his first time under 51 seconds as he recorded a new personal best of 50.92 seconds.
In the other womens events in the under 17 age group Elizabeth Wright recorded 43.75 seconds in the 300 metres,Lucy Roberts 2 minutes 26.70 seconds in the 800 metres,Lauren Ferris 4 minutes 48.56 seconds in the 1500 metres ,Rebecca Hardy 51.61 seconds in the 300 metres hurdles and Megan Kettle threw 32.77 metres in the Hammer.
