Life Leisure Young Athletes Quadrathlon | 2nd July 2016
Last edited: Monday July 4th 2016
Five of our younger WAC athletes took part in the Life Leisure Young Athletes Quadrathlon at Woodbank Park, Stockport on Saturday 2nd July. Frequent downpours didn't stop the event from continuing and there was some excellent performances in the four events (75m, Vortex, 600m, Long Jump).

Amelia Smithers pulled out after two events not feeling too great but beforehand completed the 75m (12s) and vortex (12.57m). Evie Schofield finished the event in a creditable 8th position with a 75m of 12.6s, a 600m of 2m 22s, a LJ of 3.22m and a brilliant 21.14m for the vortex.

In the U11 boys event, Seb Caton finished in 18th place and Erik Marshall in 12th. Seb's performed consistently with 75m : 12s, vortex : 12.95m, LJ : 2.92m, 600m : 2m 13s. In the wet weather Erik didn't get off to a great start, slipping at the start of his 75m but came back well to finish with a great 1m 59s in his first ever competitive 600m.

Dave Spencer's grandson, Zak Chamun, competed in the U9s event. With a steady sprint and decent vortex, he went into the final two events with a chance of a medal. He took up the challenge winning his heat of the 600m in 2m 9s and coming second in the long jump with 3.34m for final, silver medal position overall. He is pictured below looking happy with his trophy.

Very well done to all the athletes that attended.
