World Junior Championships Selection 2016
Last edited: Tuesday July 5th 2016
WARRINGTON Athletics Club's Harriet Knowles-Jones will compete in the World Junior Championships later this month.
The 18-year-old from Lymm has been added to the Great Britain team this week.
She will contest the 1500m in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on July 22.
For Knowles-Jones, who finished fourth in the IAAF World Youth Championships 1500m in Colombia last year, it will be her debut in the championship.
She missed out on achieving the 4mins 17secs qualification time when running in the British Championships and Olympics Trials at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham at the end of June, but her personal best 4mins 16.80secs in a mixed race at a Trafford AC Grand Prix meeting in Stretford on Tuesday, June 7, has counted in her favour.
Knowles-Jones also achieved second place in the England Athletics Under 20s/Under 23s Championships in Bedford on Saturday, June 18.
