MACCL - Boggart Hole Clough race I 12th Nov 2016

Warrington athletes had thick mud to contend with at the Manchester Area Cross Country League meeting at Boggart Hole Clough in Manchester on Saturday 12th November.

In the under-11 girls, Molly Wormold came home in 11th in 9mins 23, with Emily Entwistle in 26th, one place and one second ahead of Lucie Davies. Amelia Smithers, in 39th and Shauna Clarke, in 47th, both came home in under 11 minutes. Harriet Bell and Lily Briscoe completed the team event, finishing in 53rd and 62nd respectively, in what proved to be a tough course.

In the under-11 boys, Zack Chamun finished 31st in a respectable time of 9mins 50, four places ahead of Harry Whittaker, who came home in 10mins 18.

Maisie Bell led the Warrington under-13 girls home in 16th place, in a time of 14.27, with Eva Ferris in 22nd and Isobel Houghton in 34th. Jasmine Jones came a credible 40th place in a time of 15.42, with the team finishing eighth overall.

For the boys, Rhys Hopkins was 28th with a time of 13.53.

Olivia Doodson led Warrington's under-15 girls home in 22nd place with a time of 21.15, Natalie Chamun was 36th and Fay Humphries in 40th, one place ahead of team mate Isla Kenworthy for an overall 9th place.

In the under-15's boys race, Jordan Jones was second in a time of 15.44, with Joe Buckley fourth, Isaaq Ataullah 11th and Joe Roberts 25th to lead the team to first place on 17 points.

Lauren Ferris won the under-17s girls race in a time of 24.35, with Rachel McQuillan finishing 10th.

For the under-17s boys, Jack Stubbings was 3rd overall and led home Luke Gamble (9th overall) and Dan Fox (13th overall) for an overall second team place.

Steve Burthem was 10th in the V55 category.
