British Masters Cross Country Championships I 18th March 2017

Four of Warrington Athletic Club's veteran runners travelled to soggy Wavertree in Liverpool on Saturday 18th March to compete in the British Masters Cross Country Championships.

Competing in the 35 to 64 years old race Steve Watmough was first to finish in 38th place overall with a time of 29 minutes 13 seconds to take 6th place in the over 50 age group. Behind Steve, David Gill finished in 75th place (14th over 55) in 31 minutes 51 seconds, with Mervyn Ward 81st (5th over 60) in 32 minutes 10 seconds and Tony McCarthy 97th (18th over 55) in 34minutes 19 seconds.

In the overall team event Steve, David and Mervyn finished in 10th place on 194 points. And in the 55 to 64 age group David, Mervyn and Tony collected Bronze Medals with 65 points behind North Belfast Harriers 30 points and Sheffield Running Club 44 points.
