Cheshire County Championships I 13/14th May 2017

The Cheshire Track and Field Championships were held at Victoria Park Warrington over the weekend of 13/14th May with Warrington Athletic Club athletes collecting a total of 33 medals - 14 Gold,13 Silver and 6 Bronze and setting 3 new championship best performances.
In the women�s events Megan Kettle struck Gold in the under 17 Women�s Hammer setting a new Championship best performance with a throw of 40.92 metres.Also setting a new Championship Best was Meg Corker in the under 13 Girls 70 metres Hurdles as she took Gold with a time of 11.50 seconds.Meg also collected a Silver Medal in the 75 metres with 10.58 seconds.
In the Men�s events Tom Baines took Gold in the under 17 400 metres recording a new Championship best of 49.71 seconds his first time under50 seconds.In the same age group Cameron Duff collected a sprint double Gold as he won the 100 and 200 metres with times of 11.53 seconds and 23.57 seconds respectively.In the under 20 age group Fisayo Williamson-Taylor collected the same sprint double Gold with times of 11.34 seconds and 23.02 seconds respectively.
The other medallists for the club were Gold - Lauren Ferris u/20 women 1500 metres (4 minutes 42.78 seconds),Jack Stubbings u/20 men 1500 metres (4 minutes 15.47 seconds),Joe Buckley u/17 men 3000 metres (9 minutes 29.71 seconds),Luke Gamble u/20 men 3000 metres (9 minutes 24.24 seconds),Ben Harthill u/13 boys High Jump (1.35 metres) and Josh Herrington u/17 men High Jump (1.70 metres).
Silver - Alice Preece u/20 women 200 metres (28.44 seconds),David Gill senior 3000 metres Steeplechase (13 minutes 04.20 seconds),Elizabeth Wright u/17 women 300/800 metres (43.88 seconds/2 minutes 18.50 seconds),Natalie Chamun u/15 girls Hammer (15.57 metres),Natalie Ryder u/17 women Hammer (27.73 metres),Lucas Hayes u/15 boys Long Jump 94.80 metres),Amy Nuttall u/17 women 1500 metres (5 minutes 03.08 seconds),Jordan Jones u/17 men 3000 metres (9 minutes 38.15 seconds),Daniel Fox u/20 3000 metres (9 minutes 39.65 seconds),Jack Green Senior 3000 metres (9 minutes 25.55 seconds) and Josh Herrington u/17 men 100 metres Hurdles (15.66 seconds).
Bronze - Amy Nuttall u/17 women 800 metres (2 minutes 23.50 seconds),Isaac Ataullah u/15 boys 1500 metres ( 4 minutes 42.41 seconds),Olivia Chamun u/13 girls Shot Putt/Javelin (6.59 metres/16.92 metres),Lucas Hayes u/15 boys 80 metres Hurdles (14.53 seconds) and Rhys Hopkins u/13 boys 800 metres (2 minutes 27.93 seconds).
Everyone else who competed performed well with many achieving personal best times or distances in their events.
