Youth Development League Sunday 18th June 2017 Connah's Quay Deeside

Warrington Athletic Club under 13 and under 15 team travelled to Connah’s Quay Deeside on Sunday 18th June for the third round of the Youth Development League having won the first two matches but with a slightly depleted team.
In the under 13 age group Meg Corker was a triple winner taking the 75 metres in 10.2 seconds,Long Jump with 4.20 metres and the 70 metres hurdles in 11.0 seconds which takes her to the top of the UK rankings.Other winners in the girls events were Lucy Entwistle B 150 metres (22.0 seconds) and B Javelin (12.32 metres) both personal bests,Eva Ferris A 1200metres (4 minutes 25.4 seconds-personal best),Molly Wormald B 1200 metres (4 minutes 31.5 seconds),Lisa Halliday B 70 metres hurdles (15.9 seconds-personal best) and Olivia Chamun B Shot (5.60 metres).In the boys events Rhys Hopkins and Jacob Cox were the only winners taking A and B wins in the 1500 metres with 5 minutes 08.3 seconds and 5 minutes 32.7 seconds respectively with Jacob’s time being a personal best.
In the under 15 age group Emily Jackson was the only winner taking the B 300 metres in a new personal best time of 45.6 seconds while in the boys events Tom McKean won the B 200 metres with a new best time of 25.9 seconds while in the High Jump Lucas Hayes and Oliver Meadows took A and B events with jumps of 1.58 metres and 1.40 metres respectively both personal bests.
All other athletes competed to there best in extremely hot conditions with many achieving personal bests and the team although weakened finished in second place keeping them in the lead in the league.
