Last edited: Monday January 29th 2018
The North of England Cross Country Championships were held at a new venue of Harewood House Estate Leeds on Saturday 27th January, with the venue also being tested as a possible venue for the English National Championships in 2019. The course proved to be a tough one, and the blustery weather conditions made it even more challenging for our runners.

In the under 13 age group girls race Orla Gregory had an excellent run to finish in 24th place in 12.23 mins and backed up by Molly Wormald in 100th place (13.18), Maisie Bell 112th (13.30) and Lucie Davies 127th (13.41) the team finished in 14th place on 363 points. Close behind in 137th place (13.46) and 140th place (13.49) were Eva Ferris and Emily Entwistle with Amelia Smithers (14.34) completing the squad in 180th place.

In the boys race Erik Marshall finished in a fab in 47th place in 11.57 mins with Reece Connell 159th in 13.09 mins.

In the under 15 boys race after a cautious start Joel Birchall ran well to finish in 85th place in 15.49 mins with Isaaq Ataullah 99th in 16.05 mins.

In the under 17 mens race Joe Buckley, having just recovered from illness, ran well to finish in 33rd place in 22.09 mins with Jack Wadsworth in 58th in 22.57 mins and Charlie Turnbull 96th in 25.01 mins.

In the under 20 Womens race Lauren Ferris had an excellent run to finish in 14th place in 24.57 mins with Rachel McQuillan 53rd in 29.33 mins.

Well done all. Fantastic running
